We are proud to announce that celebrated potter and television presenter Keith Brymer Jones has purchased Interclamp tube and clamp fittings directly from Fixings & Fittings as part of the ongoing restoration of the historic Capel Salem chapel in Pwllheli.
Keith and his wife, actress Marj Hogarth, are transforming the Grade II listed Welsh chapel into their forever home and creative studio. We are delighted that Interclamp has become part of that journey.
About Capel Salem
Capel Salem is a remarkable former Welsh chapel located on the stunning Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales. Originally built in 1862 for the Calvinistic Methodists, the chapel stands as an important part of Welsh architectural and religious heritage.
The building was designed by renowned Welsh architect Thomas Thomas and later expanded in 1893 to serve a growing congregation. At its peak, the chapel could seat up to 930 worshippers.
Today, this Grade II listed building remains a symbol of Welsh resilience, history, and craftsmanship, making it a fitting home for a thoughtful restoration project.

Capel Salem Renovation Project
Since purchasing Capel Salem in 2022, Keith and Marj have undertaken an ambitious restoration to turn the neglected chapel into a home, studio, and welcoming community space.
The project has been documented in Our Welsh Chapel Dream, showing the real challenges of renovating a historic structure, from dry rot and structural repairs to modernising utilities while preserving original features.
The renovation balances heritage conservation with contemporary living, creating a unique blend of past and present.
Why Interclamp was Chosen for the Renovation
As part of the renovation, Keith incorporated Interclamp tube clamp fittings supplied directly by Fixings & Fittings across a range of practical and design-led applications. The system offers a flexible, non-invasive solution that aligns with the overall approach to the project, preserving the character of the building while introducing durable, contemporary features.
One use was in the creation of bespoke wardrobe rails. Using Interclamp fittings, Keith was able to design sturdy, made-to-measure hanging rails that not only serve a practical purpose but also enhance the interior aesthetic. The use of galvanised steel introduces a subtle industrial edge that complements the chapel’s historic fabric without overwhelming it. Notably, the Interclamp B34 size provides an ideal diameter for standard coat hangers, making it a functional as well as visually cohesive choice.
Another project where Interclamp was used was for the creation of a bespoke washstand. This smart and practical design was carefully built to fit around existing external water pipes while incorporating a Belfast sink and a side worktop for soaps and accessories. It is great to see the versatility of Interclamp showcased within the stunning renovation of Capel Salem.
Another project where Keith used Interclamp involved creating bespoke conduit-style wiring housing for displaying ceramics. Keith used Interclamp to form external conduit-style frameworks for cables and to suspend decorative lighting. The result combines practical display space with a clean, contemporary industrial aesthetic that complements the collection beautifully.
